The Dashboard offers a range of item types and features to help make your online auction stand out! Below, you'll find videos that explain how to add auction items to your site, details about each field's purpose, and additional information on item feature sets and how to use them effectively.
How many items can we list per auction?
We do not limit the number of items you can add, so you can include as many items in your auction as you like.
Add a new item to your auction
- From the Dashboard, choose the Items tab
- Click the gray Add Item icon in the top right corner of the page
Item field descriptions
- Item Number (Optional): Each item should have a unique Item Number. The items will be displayed in numerical order.
- Item Title: Short title to describe the item.
- Item Value: The estimated value of the item for tax deduction purposes.
- Starting Bid: The dollar amount you would like your bidding to begin. (Recommendation is 30%-50% of the item value)
- Bid Increments: The dollar amount you set for bid increments. These are typically whole amounts, such as $5, $10, $15, etc., depending on the item's value. (Recommendation is 5%-10% of the item value)
- Description: A detailed explanation of what is included in your item.
Restrictions: Any restrictions that the purchaser should be aware of (e.g., Age requirements, trip details, shipping fees, expiration dates, etc.). - Categories: Organizing items into categories makes it easier for your supporters to browse and bid (e.g., food and drink, family fun, date night, sports, etc.).
- Donor: Business or person who donated the item to your organization.
Adding an item image
Here are a few things to keep in mind when adding images or video to your items:
- Image Size: A square image for your thumbnail is recommended, with a minimum size of 500x500 pixels.
- Adding Images: Click on the "Image" tab. Upload files from your computer or drag and drop them. Arrange the images in the order you would like them displayed in your Online Auction.
Additional item features
- Sales Tax: The percentage of your item that is taxable. For example, if you have a basket valued at $100, and $50 of it is taxable, the taxable percentage would be 50%.
